Here you do not just stay; You simply be.

OUR CORE PHILOSOPHY

THE SANCTUARY

Born from a personal search for stillness in Bali, La Calma is a sanctuary created in the quiet village of Desa Kutuh, Uluwatu. It was built on the belief that true luxury is honest, grounded, and emotionally generous.

Our mission is not just to host, but to hold. To create a space where thoughtful design and nature foster a deep sense of reconnection. Here, you do not just stay, you simple be.

Our Values

Calm : We are an escape from the island's noise.

Honest Luxury: From natural stones to greek travertines.

Emotionally Engaging: We design for feeling, to hold you, to make you feel home.

Frequently Asked
Questions

  • Where is La Calma located and what’s the vibe of the area?

La Calma is tucked inside a quiet local neighbourhood in Kutuh (Uluwatu area), away from the main road noise and crowds. It’s not on a busy tourist street – it’s designed for guests who want privacy and calm, but still be a short drive from beaches, cafes and beach clubs.

  • How is the road access to the villa?

The last ±400 metres to the villa are currently unpaved village road. All normal cars can access it (no 4x4 needed), but the surface is not perfectly smooth like the main road. To make it easy, we provide free airport pick-up with our trusted driver who knows the way. If you arrive on your own, we’ll send a pin + video/clear directions so you know what to expect.

  • Is the villa private, or do I share spaces with other guests?

La Calma is a fully private villa. You have exclusive use of the entire 2-bedroom house, private pool, tropical garden, sunken lounge, living room, kitchen and work lounge upstairs. No shared areas with other guests.

  • What’s included in the nightly rate?

    Your stay includes:

    Daily light cleaning

Free airport pick-up (one car per booking)

    High-speed Wi-Fi throughout the villa

    Netflix-ready smart TV + soundbar + PS5 + Board Games

Custom La Calma bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash)

Fresh towels, linens and basic toiletries

    Nespresso machine with starter capsules

Additional services (chef, massage, laundry, grocery pre-stocking, etc.) can be arranged at extra cost.

  • Do you provide breakfast or a private chef?

We don’t run a full restaurant, but we can:

Arrange a simple in-villa breakfast (local/comfort style) on request.

Help you book a private chef for special dinners or stay-long catering (subject to availability and extra charge).

You’ll also find many cafés and restaurants a short drive away.

  • Is La Calma suitable for remote work / long stays?

Yes. There’s an upstairs workspace lounge with two desks, plenty of plugs and a green view, plus strong starlink Wi-Fi that’s comfortable for video calls, streaming and online work. The villa is quiet, so it works very well for digital nomads and longer stays.

  • What entertainment and tech do you provide?

The villa is set up for cosy nights in:

    Large smart TV with Netflix

    Soundbar

    Starlink Wifi up to 300mbps

PlayStation 5 (when available – please ask before booking)

    Nespresso coffee station

Dyson hair dryer and custom bathroom amenities

Perfect for movie nights, gaming sessions and lazy days in the sunken lounge.

  • How often is cleaning done and is there staff on site?

Housekeeping comes once daily for light cleaning, trash removal and towel refresh if needed. Our staff are not constantly inside the villa, but are nearby and reachable by WhatsApp for anything you need (cleaning, maintenance, arranging drivers, massage, chef, etc.).

  • Is the pool child-friendly and is it heated?

Like most Bali villas, the pool is not heated, but the tropical weather keeps it comfortable. There are steps and a shallow area by the sunken lounge that’s great for sitting and cooling off. However, there is no pool fence, so we require that children are supervised at all times.

  • Are there insects or animals around the villa?

The villa is surrounded by lush tropical greenery, which is part of the charm. Because of that, you may occasionally see geckos, butterflies or insects. We do regular pest control and keep the villa very clean, but a completely bug-free environment isn’t realistic in the tropics.
